If Money Were No Object...

I recently went to hear Mel Robbins speak, and so much of what she shared stayed with me. Throughout the night, she touched on the Odyssey Plan - a concept from Stanford professors that encourages us to think about our future not as one fixed path, but as something we can explore and reimagine.
But it was one simple question she asked at the end that really lingered:
If money were no object, what is one thing you would want to be doing?
At first, it seemed like an easy question. But when you really sit with it… it’s not.
Not because we don’t have answers -
but because something in us gets a little scared.
The thoughts creep in quickly:
What if I fail?
What will people think?
Am I too old?
And just like that, we start talking ourselves out of something we haven’t even fully allowed ourselves to dream about.
But if you sit a little longer… and gently quiet that noise…there’s usually something there.
Something that feels like purpose.
Something that quietly fills your bucket.
Something you might choose if no one was watching.
When I let myself go there, my answer came quietly (which was surprising because I overthink everything) and clearly.
I would create a beautiful, welcoming venue to host Just Be Inspired gatherings.
Not just any space - but one that feels warm, cozy, and inviting… with thoughtful details, lots of windows 🥰 and fun pops of color.
A place where women walk in and immediately feel relaxed, yet excited and welcome. A place designed for connection, conversation, and warmly welcoming.
It would have a full calendar of workshops, gatherings, conversations, creative experiences. A space that feels alive with possibility. And when it’s not being used for Just Be Inspired, it would be open for others to host their own small showers, celebrations, and meaningful moments.
I’ve seen glimpses of this kind of vision already. There’s a space in St. Petersburg called The Hostess that completely inspired me - the way it’s designed, the way it’s used, the feeling it creates. Although, if I am being honest – I want bigger😉
And closer to home, I’ve always loved what Sage Green Flowers & Events has created with their Green Room. It’s beautiful and intentional in a way that makes you want to linger. (Maybe someday I’d even have them help design my space.)
Do I have this all figured out? Not even close.
But that’s not really the point.
The point isn’t to have a perfect plan. It’s to let yourself imagine - without immediately shutting it down.
Because how often do we do that?
We feel a pull toward something and instantly follow it with:
That’s not practical.
That’s too expensive.
That’s not realistic right now.
And maybe it’s not…yet.
But what if we didn’t stop there? What if we just held the vision for a moment?
So I’ll leave you with the same question:
If money were no object, what is one thing you would want to be doing ?
Not five things. Just one.
You don’t need a plan. You don’t need to act on it today.
Just be honest. You might be surprised by what comes up. And you never know what’s possible.💜
If this question stirred something in you, I highly recommend listening to the conversation that inspired it. In this podcast episode, Mel sits down with the two Stanford professors behind the Odyssey Plan, and it’s such a refreshing way to think about what’s next—without pressure, just possibility.
